How can the Port of Rotterdam achieve their zero-emission goals? Read the newest WAP report published by students of the Erasmus University

In their latest research project, a student team from Erasmus University Rotterdam supported by Alfredo Vara, Mateo Rousse and our W4C team member Maurice Jansen, explored how wind-assisted-propulsion systems can change the maritime sector in the near future. The report focusses on how, in particular, rotor sails can transform the shipping industry, and even how WAP systems can help hubs like the Port of Rotterdam achieve their zero-emission goals.


The analysis conclusion of the report: Adopting this technology is not just an environmental necessity, it is a strategic financial advantage, facing the rising carbon costs in Europe (EU ETS).
